Patient Update COVID-19: November Lockdown Update (02 November 2020)

Firstly, we hope you and your loved ones remain safe and well.

Following Prime minister Boris Johnson’s announcement of a second national lockdown, we would like to clarify that Binley Woods Dentistry will remain open. There are no restrictions with regards to medical treatment and you are encouraged to keep your appointments.

Whilst many things have changed over recent months what has not is our commitment to you and the delivery of dental care. At Binley Woods Dentistry, we have all the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and will continue to follow our high standards of cross infection control procedures along with our robust triaging policy to ensure the safety of both patients and staff.

Please call the practice number 024 76 540045 or leave us an email if you have any queries or any dental problems.

Since the last lockdown, I’m sure you can appreciate we had a substantial number of patients who needed urgent care. Thank you to all our patients for your understanding and patience, we understand many appointments were delayed.

However, we are now able to book appointments, if your routine exam or Hygienist visit has been delayed or cancelled please call our practice number 024 76 540045 and our team will be happy to assist you. We will also continue to prioritise urgent care, patients with a high risk of dental disease, and patients with outstanding treatment which cannot be delayed.

Furthermore, we recommend patients who are clinically vulnerable to delay any non-essential treatment until further guidance is released by the relevant authorities.

If you are worried about your appointment, please contact our team to discuss your concerns and we can always postpone your appointment to a later date.

Safety and infection control have always been our highest priority in our practice and over the past few months we have been continually reviewing the guidance ensuring we are providing a safe environment for patients and staff members. As a result of increased protocols your next visit may look and feel different. Our team members will be wearing enhanced PPE, we will of course be promoting social distancing. We look forward to seeing you again.

COVID-19: Patient Announcement (1 June 2020)

Following the announcement by the government on 28th May 2020, we are pleased that dental practices can reopen from Monday 8th June 2020. In line with industry guidance, like many practices across the country, we will be reopening Binley Woods Dentistry with a phased approach.

There continues to be a national shortage of personal protective equipment. Our priority remains the wellbeing of our patients and team and we will only move from one phase to the next once we are satisfied we have all the processes and personal protective equipment in place to do so. Patient safety and comfort is paramount, and we will be introducing measures to keep our patients and team protected in line with guidance from the Chief Dental Officer, British Dental Association and Public Health England.

Since lockdown began 3 months ago, we were required to cancel numerous appointments and we thank you all for your patience and understanding over this period. Our staff have been preparing the practice and working on plans for reopening, however as you may know some personal protective equipment is still in high demand due to COVID-19 by our front line services and we need to be mindful of this. As with many dental practices across the country and as advised by the Chief Dental Officer, we will initially be prioritising appointments for our existing patients who have had dental emergencies or urgent appointments cancelled.

For those who have spoken to a member of our team since lockdown began about a dental emergency or if your appointment was cancelled during lockdown, you have been placed on our contact list and a member of our team will be in touch with you soon when we are fully prepared to arrange your appointment.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time as we work our way towards reopening, we will be in touch soon with more information. Any questions please feel free to call the practice number 024 7654 0045.
