NASOLABIAL LINES & MARIONETTE LINES BINLEY WOODS, COVENTRY

Nasolabial Lines & Marionette lines

Nasolabial lines

Nasolabial lines run from the corners of the nose to the sides of the mouth. Facial bone and tissue loss, skin ageing and frequent ‘big’ smiles can cause nasolabial folds to occur. These creases, which appear more pronounced with volume loss in the cheeks, can make the face look aged. Filler injections can be used to smoothen and treat these folds.

Dermal fillers can stimulate collagen production, attract moisture to the desired area and replenish facial volume. This can fill in the lines as well as help to improve skin elasticity and texture. Dermal fillers administered into the cheek area can help lift the sagging facial skin, reducing the demarcation between the lower face and the cheeks. As a result, we recommend cheek augmentation along with nasolabial treatment for a younger and smoother look.

At Binley Woods Dentistry, our practitioner will conduct a consultation to discuss your expectations, preferences and the outcomes that are attainable. We will provide you with a bespoke treatment plan to address your nasolabial lines, with the aim to move towards your desired look. You can also get a better understanding of the different filler options and techniques involved through our extensive portfolio of work. The dermal fillers used at our clinic contain a local anaesthetic which helps us to provide you with an experience as pain-free as possible.

Marionette lines

With age and certain lifestyle choices, the skin loses some of its essential tissues and elasticity, causing unattractive hollowness. As a result, naturally forming marionette folds, that manifest from the corners of the mouth towards the chin, become more evident. They can make it look as though one is sad or sulking even when that may not be the case, detracting from one’s appearance. A progressive development, marionette creases can get more acute with time and form deep vertical ridges.
Dermal fillers can replace lost volume to lines, and reduce the sagging and downturned orientation of the mouth. This can be done in addition to cheek sculpting to restore the collagen levels of the facial skin, making it more elastic. This not only helps to smooth out the lines but also to return the skin to its former youthful state.
